摘　　要：本文通过对情态隐喻的取向、类型和作用的介绍，阐述了情态隐喻的基本知识和用法，揭示了情态隐喻在人际语法隐喻中的重要性。阅读教学一直以来在英语教学中有着举足轻重的地位，而书面语篇中大量的语法隐喻是造成英语阅读理解困难的一大原因。文章结合具体实例分析情态隐喻如何造成语篇理解困难，探讨人际语法隐喻对阅读理解的指导作用，为阅读教学提供一种思路。This article focuses on the modality orientation,type and function.People can choose different ways of metaphor to express their idea properly in their daily life.Therefore,the metaphor of modality plays an important role in understanding the text and interpersonal relationships.The teaching of reading comprehension always plays an important role in English teaching.And the fact that there is an abundance of grammatical metaphor in English writing has brought some difficulty for the readers.This thesis analyzes how the metaphor of modality brings about difficulty for the comprehension of texts and the guidance that the metaphor of modality provides for reading comprehension.
