摘　　要：研究生公共英语教学特别是中医药院校的研究生公共英语教学经历了不同的发展阶段,有着巨大的特殊性,现状却令人担忧。由此引起了人们对研究生公共英语教学的极大关注以及对于中医药院校研究生英语教学中人文性与学术性、普适性和专业性等一些原则问题的深度思考。English teaching for the postgraduates has experienced several developmental stages. But now it is in an embarrassing situation. The English teaching for the postgraduates of traditional Chinese medicine （TCM） has become the focus of many English teachers and officials of all ranks because of its typical features and the public has began to think about some vital issues concerning it such as humane and academic nature, universality and professional, etc.
