摘　　要：高等职业教育区别于普通高等教育的本质特征是"职业性",主要体现在履行服务社会的职能中,高职教育培养高素质应用型人才。主要从我国高职教育的发展、英美高职教育的启示以及社会发展对高职教育的影响等方面,分析了高职教育强化服务社会职能的意义,并对新疆高等职业教育的发展进行了相关探索。The essence of higher vocational education, different from other forms of higher education, is to administer the function of serving the society and train high-quality applied talents. In the aspects of the development of Chinese higher vocational education, the inspiration drawn from the British and American higher vocational education, and the expectation of the society to the higher vocational education, the thesis analyzes the meaning of serving the society and probes in the development of the higher vocational education in Xinjiang.
