摘 要:理雅各《尚书》译本问世至今一直被奉为儒经翻译"标准译本",然而我们仍可从中找到不少"遗憾":有理解方面的,也有表达方面的,有拼写或文献标注方面的,也有结论方面的。这一事实再次证明:金无足赤,译无定译,经典永远呼唤新译本。经典复译不仅必要,而且有一些原则需要遵守。理氏《尚书》译本给我们的启示有:以"信"为本,调和"显化"和"异化",拒绝过度"归化",实行"合作共享"。Although esteemed as the "standard translation" of Confucian classics more than a century ago, Legge' s rendition of Shangshu can still be found to contain tation and expression, and out- datedness or impropriety in transliteration, literature ever since its publication mistakes in both interpre- marking, and comments making. This fact proves again the truth that no translation is perfect, and classic works forever call for retrans- lation. In addition to the necessity of retranslating Chinese classics with the passage of time, Legge' s rendering of Shangshu also gives us inspiration on the guiding principles to be observed in the process of retranslation : be- ing as faithful as possible to the original; mediating the "explicitation" and "foreignization" strategies, and a- verting "over - domestication" ; and coagulating the expertise and wisdom of native and foreign scholars.
