OBJECTIVE To examine the level of iodine adding in the table salt and the iodine nutrition state of three different populations in Tongzhou. METHODS The civilian's house table salt and different population urine sample in this area were col- lected to make the iodine density determination. RESULTS From 2009 to 2010 the qualified iodine salt intake rates respectively was 95.8% and 97.2%. The median of urinary iodine of school-aged children, adults and pregnant women was 169ug/L, 178ug/L and 326ug/L respectively. Undetected urine iodine 〈 20~g/L and urine iodine 〈 50pLg/L was 2.20% in school-aged children, 2.00% in adults and 1.40% in pregnant women. The sample of urine iodine 〉 1001~g/L was 86.6% in school-aged children, 84.5% in adults and 93.0% in pregnant women. CONCLUSION At present, the content of iodine intake has matched the national standard to eliminate the iodine lacked sickness. The nutrition condition of school-aged children and adults are both at the suitable level. However the median of urinary iodine of pregnant woman is higher than normal standards, indicat- ing that it is unbalance in iodine intake for different populations. From now on, the key point on the work is the iodine nutrition monitoring with sub-populations.
