由“面子”衍生的若干近似概念的辨析

摘　　要：要对"面子"概念做出精确的定义并基于此对纷繁复杂的"面子现象"做出合理、清晰的解释,不是一件容易的事情。长期以来,围绕"面子"的作用机制展开的理论与实证研究,催生了众多由"面子"衍生的概念。这些概念的提出有助于研究者针对"面子"的具体作用及其影响过程展开理论性的描述与刻画,因而极大地提升了实证研究的可操作性,但其彼此之间的高度相似也导致了很大程度的混淆。本文通过系统的文献(1955-2012年)研究,从276篇期刊论文、15部出版著作/论文集,32篇专著/论文集中的析出文献以及59篇学位论文和会议论文之中,梳理出了11个常见的"面子"衍生概念,对它们进行了严格的界定、比较与总结,同时也对它们之间的关系做出了相应的说明,为后续研究的进一步提升与完善奠定了基础。For most people, it is hard to make an accurate definition of the concept of ＂face＂ , not to mention a reasonable and clear explanation of ＂face phenomenon＂. During a long period of time, theoretical and empirical researches focusing on the dynamics and mechanism of ＂face＂ have given birth to plenty of derivative conceptions. These conceptions have contributed to the theoretical description of the functioning process of ＂face＂ , and thus have largely enhanced the feasibility of empirical researches. However, the proximity among them also has led to substantive confusion. By means of a systematic review of 276 journal articles, 15 writings and books, 32 articles from anthology, and 59 unpublished thesis/dissertations and conference papers, which are all around ＂face＂ dynamics, we sift out 11 frequently-used conceptions derived from ＂face＂ . In order to lay a solid foundation for following researches, this study proposes strict definitions and comparisons of these conceptions, as well as makes the relationships clear.
