"道"的别样话语存在--论卫礼贤对《论语》"道"的语义解读和迻译

摘  要:鉴于"道"所包含的"仁道"和"天道"意蕴在德语语境中的缺省和上世纪初德语读者对中国文化预知的缺乏,卫礼贤在翻译《论语》时,用诠释性的替换翻译,寻求"道"的"所指"与德语词汇符号"所指"的交汇,从而使无中国文化前见的德语读者根据自己的文化习惯理解"道"的意蕴。和而不同,译释并举,使"道"在德语语境中重现时,通过诠释性翻译,使这一符号的"所指"与"能指"在德语的语境中产生转移,同时保留了译文的异质文化的显著特征。卫礼贤对《论语》中"道"的迻译,体现了在创造与忠实、归化与异化间达到平衡的努力,也使"道"在德语语境中获得了一种独立的话语含义。In view of the defective implication of "benevolence" and "the natural law" included in "Dao" in Ger- man contexts, and the German readers' lack of Chinese cultural background in the 20th Century, Richard Wilhelm translated "The Artalects of Confucius" with interpretive replacement, seeking the significance intersection of "Dao" and the German vocabulary symbols, in order to help the German readers understand the connotations of "Dao" based on their own cultural practices. His translation is proper but different with both interpretation and annotation. Richard Wilhelm reproduced "Dao" in German contexts via his interpretive translation and transformed the "ab- sence" of the implication to the "presence" of it, and meanwhile tried to retain the significant feature of heterogene- ous culture in his translation, embody the harmony of adaptation and alienation, balance creativeness and faithful- ness, and therefore "Dao" is endowed with an independent discourse implication in German contexts.
