摘　　要：本研究通过利用美国当代英语语料库对医学英语动词名化现象进行了考察。研究发现动词名化是医学英语的常见特征之一,其中最常见的构成方式是零缀、后缀-ion,-ment和-sis。转类型动词名化多于转级型动词名化,而且名化率高。This paper studies the use of verbal nominalizations in medical English discourse with a corpus approach. The study has found that verbal nominalizatiom are common in medical English discourse. Among the verbal nominalizations, the nominalized verbs with ion, ment and sis suffixes are most frequent. Verbal nominalizations of class-shift type are much more than those of rank-shift type in medical English, and their degree of nominalization is also higher.
