摘　　要：在以就业为导向的高职教育中,所培养的学生要符合企业的要求才能提高学生的就业竞争力。本文通过对企业和毕业生进行问卷调查和访谈,了解社会对高职学生英语能力的需求,并在调查研究的基础上,针对目前企业对高职毕业生英语能力的需求,提出了当前高职英语教学要培养学生的自主学习能力,为其今后的可持续发展奠定基础;在教学要求上要根据不同的专业制定不同的要求;实施基础英语+行业英语的教学模式。Higher vocational education is employment--oriented, so the graduates of the vocational eollege should satisfy the re- quirements of the employers so that they can become more competitive. This paper found out what kinds of English skills that the employers needs for the graduates of the vocational eollege by questionnaire and interview. Based On the result of the sur- vey,we put forward the following suggestions for English teaching in higher vocational education：to develop students＇ learning autonomy to lay a solid foundation for their sustainable development;to make different requirements for different majors;to of- fer courses of GE＋ ESP.
