摘　　要：语言学家普遍认为,歧义现象是指一个句子的含义模棱两可,可以作两种或多种解释。而语言歧义现象存在于任何一种语言,在英语中表现比较突出。这是由于英语词汇量大,语法比较灵活。本文将从语义学角度对英语中的歧义现象进行分类;对引起歧义的各种因素进行分析;并提出一些消除歧义的手段,期望对进一步展开英语歧义研究有所帮助。English ambiguity has become a focus of research into linguistics these days. Aimed to have a full understanding of English ambiguity, this paper from the point of view of semantics starts with a brief introduction to the boundary and classification of ambiguity. It also probes into various kinds of disambiguation Finally it ends with the presentation of positive use of ambiguity.
