摘　　要：美国南方现代作家弗兰纳里·奥康纳短篇小说的怪诞文化冲突呈现出喜剧形式悲剧效果、怪诞的艺术抽象、种族偏见阶层对立、宗教面具下暴力、邪恶与死亡充斥等多样式特点,这种怪诞文化冲突直接导致其作品的怪诞特色。其怪诞特色的形成和演化主要受到西方现代文学发展的影响,美国南北方不同的历史文化及文明程度的影响,同时也深受其个人不幸生活经历的影响。Flannery O＇ Connor was a modern writer in the American South. Her short sto- ries were usually full of grotesque cultural conflicts-sometimes comedy in form but tragedy in nature. Features, such as artistic abstraction of grotesque description, racial discrimination, evil and death, and violence under the mask of religion, make full expression in her works. These grotesque cultural conflicts lead to her absurd writing style. The development of her absurd writing style was closely related with the development and prosperity of modern western litera- ture, the special historical and cultural conditions of the American South, and her miserable life experience.
