摘 要:本研究以来自浙江省城乡的97名九年级学生为研究对象,以词汇推理试卷为主要形式,并以学生的平时成绩为依据划分高分组与低分组,通过SPSS12.0软件对结果进行定量分析。研究发现:英语语言能力强的学生其词汇语用推理能力也强,两者呈正相关关系,同时,城市和农村学校的学生词汇推理能力不存在显著性差异。This research is an investigation on urban and rural middle school students' ability of lexical pragmatic inference. The participants, 97 students,which include 48 students in urban school and 49 students in rural school, mainly come from 2 middle schools in Zhejiang province. This paper takes vocabulary test as the main form, divides the students into high score group and low score group based on students' usual performance and computes the results of quantitative analysis through SPSS12.0. The findings are as followings: (1)The students who are strong in pragmatic inference ability are better than the weaker ones. (2)Students' pragmatic inference ability is positively related with their lexical inference ability. (3)There is no difference in lexical inference ability between students in urban and rural middle school. significant
