摘  要:"天不生仲尼,万古如长夜"不是针对孔子个人的重要性而说,乃是对儒家道统之肯定。不过,孔子乃至孟子之于道统确实有重续、扭转与开决之功。由此,道统由外在的文制形态转化为内在的实践精神形态,传道统不过是践仁尽性的工夫。这样,道统人人可传,人人必传,且为人之使命与天职,不然,则天道人伦尽丧。同时,传承道统亦是学者之当为与其文化上的最大贡献。"No Confucius, No Light" is not directed to the importance of the individual Confucius, but to confirm the Confucian orthodoxy. Confucius and Mencius really had made achievements to its continuation, turning and development of Confucian orthodoxy. Thus, orthodoxy turns from external theoretic form into inner practical spirit form, and it is nothing else but practicing benevolence and developing human nature. So, everyone can pass orthodoxy and everyone must pass orthodoxy, which is a kind of human mission and duty, otherwise Dao and human ethics will lose. At the same time, inheriting Confucian orthodoxy is also the largest contribution to contemporary Chinese culture for our scholars.
