摘 要:TEM8翻译评卷系统中,"适切性"一词每次都出现在阅卷员打分框上。语言适切性概念始终影响阅卷员的评价标准,它源于篇章语言学,从某种意义上接近但高于传统翻译标准的"通顺"概念。有意识地提高学生英语语言综合能力,增加他们的文化背景知识,以及加强其汉语修养,是提高学生运用适切性语言进行翻译的有效途径。As a criterion in translation assessment system, the term " appropriateness of language" appears on the rater's marking screen, and thus influences the rater's marking behaviol" in his assessment process. The concept of ap- propriateness, which originally comes from textual linguistics, contains similar or even richer connotation than tradi- tional translation criterion "'smoothness". In order to reach appropriateness of language, students should broaden their knowledge of cultural background of both source and target languages, and strengthen their comprehensive ability of both foreign language and their mother tongue.
