摘 要:随着人们对英语语言应用能力的强调,以内容为依托的CBI教学理念越来越被教育界所关注。CBI教学不以语言为教学的最终目的,而把语言当作传授各种学科知识的工具,让学习者在获得学科知识的同时也获得语言知识。针对当前地方高校英语阅读教学和外语人才培养所存在的问题,将CBI引入英语阅读教学不仅能够充分满足不同学生的学习需求,还能够有效拓展学生的知识面,培养学生的综合素质,是培养应用型人才的有效途径。With the increasing emphasis on the compe^nce of English language application, more and more educators pay their attention to content - based instractian (CBI). The theory of CBI believes that people learn a second/foreign language more successfully when they use the lan- guage as a means of acquiring information, rather than as an uhimate goal of learning. Through CBI, students can primely acquire English language while studying the knowledge of different disciplines. In view of the existing problems in English reading teaching in the local collages, applying CBI into English reading teaching can not only sufflciendy address the learning needs of different students, but also broaden the scope of students' knowledge and develop their comprehensive qualities. CBI is one of the effective ways to cultivate applied talents.
