摘　　要：对非母语的英语学习者来说,如何认识英国英语方言一直是英语语言学和应用语言学领域研究的课题。本文试图从英语的方言定义、方言特征、方言语域以及方言语言体系等方面探讨英国英语方言与英语语言之间的紧密联系,指出英语方言的研究对英语语言学习的研究具有积极地补充作用与正面反拨效应。For non - native English learners, how to understand British English dialects has been a subject yet to be researched in the field of English linguistics and applied linguistics. From the ensuing four perspectives, namely, the definition, characteristics, register as well as the system of dialects, the present paper attempts to examine the close interplay between the British English dia- lects and the English language itself, and finally to point out that the relative study exerts a positive complement role and positive backwash effect in the research of English language learning.
