基于语料库的读者参与手段使用对比研究——以中美大学生英语议论文为例

摘　　要：读者参与手段的使用与作者的语言水平有一定的关系。该研究以三组不同英语水平的中国大学生和一组美国大学生为研究对象,采用语料库研究的方法,对比分析了他们议论文中读者参与手段的使用情况。研究发现,中国大学生在使用读者参与手段的总量上高于美国大学生,而且差异显著。但在各子类读者参与手段的使用上,各组中国大学生以及中美大学生之间并没有呈现某一特定的分布趋势。The use of reader engagement markers （REM） in argumentative essays varies depending on the language proficiency of writers. This study takes a corpus-based approach to investigate the use of REMs in the argumentative essays written by Chinese college students of three different levels of language proficiency and those by American college students. The results reveal that Chinese college students demonstrate a significant difference in the overall use of REMs from their American counterparts. However, there does not exist a fixed pattern in the use of the subcategories of REMs in the four groups of students.
