摘　　要：受编与译的双重变形，国际新闻从来都不是价值中立的真相再现。本文运用批评性话语分析的方法，对中美媒体有关中共十八大的英语新闻标题进行了对比分析，旨在揭示美方新闻编译者如何运用语言符号使话语实践成为表达观点、立场和意识形态的手段，以及我国新闻英译的缺陷——虽陈述比较客观，但语言符号的运用不够灵活。Undergone two transformations in editing and translating, the global news is never the faithful representation of reality. The paper, adopting the instrument of the critical discourse analysis, makes a comparative study on the news headlines by Chinese and U.S. media on the 18th National Congress of CPC. It not only explores how linguistic signs are used by U.S. news transeditors to express different opinions, attitudes and ideologies, but also reveals the shortcomings in the English news by China media - though a more objective representation, there is a deficiency in the skillful usage of language signs.
