电影与福克纳叙述形式的革新——兼论《八月之光》的电影化叙事

摘　　要：作为20世纪现代主义文学巨匠,福克纳的突出成就之一在于其小说叙述形式的革新。这种革新不仅是因为突破小说内部叙事传统的需要,也因为同时代新兴的电影与艺术思潮对文学创作产生的压力、冲击与启发。但是,后者在福克纳小说的研究中往往没有得到足够的重视。本文试图探讨福克纳叙述形式实验的动因及其与电影的互动关系,并以《八月之光》为例,阐明电影化观念和手法在该小说中的广泛运用,从而揭示电影化思维对福克纳整个小说创作的意义。Faulkner＇ s greatness as an outstanding modernist novelist lies in his achievement in narrative innovation whose impetus comes not only from the need to break through the old-fashioned tradition of narrative but also from the pressure, impact and inspiration brought by the newborn film art. But the influence of films on Faulkner＇ s literary creation is not properly valued in Faulkner criticism. This paper intends to explore the impetus and interaction between film and his novel writing. Light in August will be taken as an example to examine the filmic idea and filmic narrative strategies embodied in the novel with the aim of disclosing the significance and effectiveness of filmic ideas for his formal innovation and thus having a better understanding of his deployment of the plot and characters as well as the thematic meaning the form helps to convey.
