摘　　要：中国社会和经济发展到了一个关键转折期。对于健康而可持续的发展而言,人是最重要的因素。新生代需要良好的专业教育,毕业后进入职场,为终身职业生涯奋斗;产业的转型升级需要大量的专业人才;国家建立"创新社会、和谐社会"的战略需要德才兼备的人力资源支撑。学生、产业、国家这三个主要的利益相关者对专业教育目标提出诉求,都指向了未来职场的需求。最近,党中央提出了"加快现代职业教育体系建设"的战略。本文拟结合工程专业教育,就为什么、什么是和如何发展现代职业教育体系提出一些思考。China has reached a critical turn point for social and economic development. For a healthy and sustainable development, human resources will be a most important factor. A huge number of young people from one by other new generations need outstanding professional education to enter profession-al practices and continue their life long career; Industries need numerous professional fresh talents for their business transitions and upgrade. The State＇s strategic target to establish ＂innovative and har-monic society＂ requires support of human resources with high ethics and abilities. As key stakeholde-rs, students/industries/State has brought up their requests from professional education, which all point to the need of professional practices. Recently, the Party directs a strategy to speed up the de-velopment a Modern Professional Education System. This paper discusses what, why and how the Modern Professional Education System will be developed by using engineering education as an exam-pie.
