摘　　要：在隐喻的认知观与翻译的认知观基础上,从英汉相同、相似和空缺的概念隐喻三个方面探讨隐喻翻译的认知过程,最后得出结论:在隐喻翻译过程中,译者翻译的是隐喻表达,而不是概念隐喻,所有的隐喻的理解与表达都受到概念隐喻的制约。Based on the cognitive view both of metaphor and of translation, the paper analyzes the cognitive process of metaphorical translation from the three aspects： the same, similar and absent conceptual metaphors both in the English and Chinese languages. The paper reaches the conclusion that in translating metaphors, the translator does not translate conceptual metaphors but metaphorical expressions, and the translating of metaphors is controlled and organized by con- ceptual metaphors.
