摘　　要：麦角硫因是一种天然的稀有手性氨基酸，作为生物体内重要的生理活性物质，具有清除自由基、解毒、维持DNA的生物合成、细胞的正常生长、细胞免疫、抗辐射、美白及抗衰老等功能，它被认定是一种特有的、多功能的生理细胞保护剂，尤其在抗氧化和能量调节等方面起着重要的作用。本文概述了麦角硫因的药理活性和在食品、化妆品、医药和治疗学、生物医学领域中的应用。L-Ergothioneine （EGT） is a naturally occurring chiral amino acid which has unique properties, numerous rati- onales have been proposed to explain the ubiquitous presence of EGT and its accumulation and function in vivo. These include a role for EGT as a radical scavenger, antidote, regulator of DNA biosynthesis and normal growth of cells, cellim- mune regulator, resisting radiationand anti-aging, while themost important function is as a physiologic antioxidant and en- ergyregulator, therefore, EGThas been ascribed to be a characteristic and multifunctional physiological cytoprotector. This artielesummarizes the pharmacological activities of EGT and its applications inthe fields of food, cosmetics, pharmaceuti- cals and therapeutics, biomedicine and so on.
