摘　　要：语块(lexical chunks)是指由两个或多个词组成的词汇。它在英语报刊标题中占有很大的比例。报刊标题因其文体的独特性,使英语学习者在阅读时感到困难。通过分析美国《洛杉矶时报》的1500个新闻标题,有助于英语学习者更深入地了解报刊标题语块的句法特点和修辞特征。Lexical chunks consist of sequences of two or more words which operate as single units and hold a large proportion in English newspaper headlines. Because of the unique stylistic features, English learners find it is difficult to fully grasp the meaning of newspaper headlines. Therefore, by analyzing 1500 headlines in Los Angeles Times, the features of lexical chunks are discussed from the perspectives of syntax and rheto- lies.
