摘　　要：詹姆士否认传统哲学把意识视为实体,而把意识视为心身总体的一个机能。心理内容或状态是经验的连续流动。牵穿在经验之流中的最根本的质素是纯粹经验。它不为"意识"所觉知,却是客观的实在。纯粹经验组建了主体对客体的认知,使客体参与到主体的结构中,并导引有意识经验的过渡与连接。James denied the traditional philosophy which takes consciousness as the entity, and took the con-sciousness as a psychosomatic function. Mental content or state is continuous experience flowing. Pure experience is the most fundamental factor in the stream of experience. It is not perceived by ＂ consciousness＂ , but it exists objectively. Pure experience forms the cognition of subject on the object, makes the object get involved in the structure of the subject, and guides the transition and connection of conscious experience.
