摘　　要：语用学是研究语言特征的有效工具。文章借助语用学的合作原则、语用前提、礼貌理论来分析美剧《破产姐妹》中的幽默对白,旨在提高读者对美剧中幽默的欣赏能力和英语交际能力。Pragmatics can serve as an effective tool to study language. The present paper, aiming to enhance the understanding and English communicative competence of the readers, emplays pragmatic theories such as cooperative principle, presupposition, and politeness theory to analyze the humorous dialogues of“Two Broke Girls”, an American sitcom.
