摘　　要：英语作为国际通行的交流工具，起着一个传递文明、沟通文化的桥梁作用。本刊希望通过“国际英语大赛——‘文化交流大使’选拔赛”，选出优秀的外语人才，代表中国当代青少年，担当起“文化交流大使”的职责，向世界讲中国故事，为促进中外文化的民间交流储备人才。在中国教育科学研究院外语教学研究中心的指导下，英语沙龙杂志社和剑桥大学外语考试部决定联合启动“2014年国际英语大赛——‘文化交流大使’选拔赛”。部分比赛内容将陆续在本刊各系列杂志上刊登。The art of the paper cut is one of the folk art forms in China with the widest popularity, the most distinctive regional style and the richest historical and cultural implications. It is widely prevalent in rural areas, where the folk people still greatly appreciate paper cut works. Most of them are rural women who cut a piece of hand-made jute paper with simple and primitive scissors and form this art form with a powerful expressive force has developed over two thousand years.
