摘  要:教育传统是一个国家或者民族在教育的实践中形成并浓缩的精华,它的存在不仅指向过去更是指向现在和将来。美国斯坦福大学是一所创立较晚、发展较快的大学,它既继承了美国教育传统的共性又有自身发展的个性。斯坦福大学以培养实用的人才为标准,注重学生的创造力和自由的科研精神,同时开放办学,积极与社会互动。研究美国斯坦福大学的教育传统,分析其历史文化沉淀,对于今天我国高校改革和建设世界一流大学有重要的启示和借鉴意义。Educational tradition is the essence which has come into being and concentrated in the educational practice of a country or a nationality.Its existence points to not only the past but also the present and the future.Stanford University is a university which has been founded in a relatively later time but developed at a faster speed.It not only has inherited general characteristics of the educational tradition of America but also has specific ones of its own development.Stanford University aims to educate practical talents and pays attention to students' creativity and free spirit of scientific research.In the meanwhile,it insists on running school open and carries out active interaction with the society.Researches on the educational tradition of Stanford University and analyses of its historical and cultural heritages will give important enlightenment to both the reform of colleges and universities and the construction of world-class universities in China nowadays.
