摘　　要：言语的间接性是语言使用中经常出现的一种普遍现象。掌握常见的间接言语行为的呈现方式易于我们准确把握真实言语意图。在外语教学中,师生要了解间接言语行为的各种呈现方式来把握得体的交际策略,促进日常交流。Indirectness is often found in language communication. People like to express themselves in some situa- tions indirectly out of politeness. So it becomes essential for people to understand the implication of the indirect ex- pressions, and it is a great help to learn more about the different means to achieve indirect speech acts and practice the use of them. The paper analyzes the lexical, syntactical, semantical and rhetorical means to achieve indirect- ness, which is enlightening to EFL learning and teaching.
