摘　　要：时间隐喻是人类认知方式的一种,时间概念是空间概念的隐喻映射,英语时态表征实质是时间和空间的隐喻。本文从美国著名黑人女性文学家Alice Walker的短篇小说Everyday Use for Grandmama的时态使用入手,以认知语言学和认知隐喻学为理论依据来研究英语时态的隐喻,探讨时态隐喻与空间的关系以及文化内涵的联系。The metaphor of time is one of the ways we live by and the basis for human cognition and the concept of time as a matter of fact is the metaphorical representation of concept of space. English tense virtually presents the metaphor of time and space. This paper focuses the tense used Everyday Use for Grandmama written by Alice Walker, a famous American black writer. On the basis of this theory of cognitive metaphor of cognitive linguistics, it analyzes the metaphor of tense and reveal the relationship between the metaphor of time and space and it＇ s cultural connotation.
