摘　　要：本文通过对西部地区外语电教的历史及现状进行分析，指出应该根据西部高校的实际情况，从更新观念，提出自身素质，因陋就简等方面入手，抓住西部大开发一重要的历史机遇，从而实现外语电教的进一步发展。Through an analysis of the history and the present condition of media in foreign language instruction in West China,the author points out in this paper that we have to seize the historic opportunity of the campaign of exploiting the western territory on a large scale,and start with basing our work on the reality of the higher education institutions in West China,updating our conception,improving our own qualities,and having our work done with whatever is available,so as to fulfill the task of further developing media in foreign language instruction in this area.
