美语特点分析及文化透视

摘　　要：作为英国英语的变体 ,美国英语呈现出诸多特点 ,如对外来词语吸收同化功能强、用词夸张、词语简练、表达方式通俗新颖等。文章拟透过语言表象 ,对其进行文化透视与观察 。American English,though derived from 17 century British English,develops its own language features.Among these are the readiness of borrowing foreign words,the simplicity of spelling and structure,the inclination for overstatement and the fondness of informality.This paper intends to make cultural analysis of these characteristics with the aim of demonstrating the impact the American culture exerts on the language.
