摘　　要：词源 (etymology)指词的来源与历史 ,词源信息应当成为双语词典标注的内容之一。这是双语词典百科性、描写性的需要 ,也是满足读者语言文化习得需求的重要方面。词源信息向读者展示了有关词目的语义、语法、语用和文化信息 。Etymology is about the origin and history of words. Information on etymology should be included in the entries of bilingual dictionaries, which are supposed to be comprehensive and descriptive and serve the readers in their study of a foreign language and culture. Etymological information provides the readers with the meanings, grammar, usage and cultural connotations of the entries. For these reasons lexicographers should go out of their way to include as much etymological information as possible in their dictionaries.
