摘　　要：作为墨家学派创始人的墨子是广为人知的，但作为和鲁 班齐名的古代著名工匠和军事建筑家的墨子，则鲜为人知。墨子在小城防守方面的贡献，既 有理论又有实践，在中国军事史和中国建筑史上都应占有重要的地位。As a founder of Mohism in the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods,Mocius is well known to many people,but as an outstandin g ancient crafteman and military architect,he has not enjoyed equal popularity w ith the celebrated architect Lu Ban. Mocius' contribution to the defence of sma ll town combined theory with practice,and it should have its own position in the Chinese military history and the Chinese architectural history.
