摘　　要：校训是大学的精神与灵魂,表征着大学的精神理想和价值追求,是大学宗旨与功能的精神性表达。基于不同的历史传统和文化观念,形成了各具特色的大学校训。从校训中可以辨识出大学的独立品格、教育理念和公共服务的精神。大学校训所承载的高贵、距离、批判与担当精神应代代相传以至永恒,由此才能真正推进社会发展与文明进步。The school motto is the spirit and soul of a university , representing the spirit of the university of Ideal and value pur-suit, and it is the university aim and function of the spiritual expression .Based on the different historical tradition and cultural con-cept , universities have formed the distinctive school motto .The university independent character , the education idea and the spirit of public service can be identified from the school mottos .The nobility, history, criticism and spirit of school mottos at universities should be handed down from generation to generation , which can promote the social development and civilization progress .
