摘  要:全国中学生英语能力竞赛是目前我国中学英语唯一的全国性学科竞赛。本文通过列举其新颖独特的题型阐述了此竞赛对英语教学的促进作用:给中学英语教学提供了正确的导向和积极的反拨作用;通过竞赛辅导阐述了此竞赛对教师成长的促进作用:有助于完善教师的知识结构,有助于践行教师的敬业精神;通过列举事实阐述了此竞赛对学生成长的促进作用:有助于提高学生的英语成绩.有助于促进学生的可持续发展。National English Proficiency Competition for Middle School Students (NEPCS) is currently the only national high school English academic competition in China. This paper describes the positive effects on English teaching of NEPCS: providing the correct orientation and positive backwash effects on English teaching. It also elaborates the promoting effects on leachers' progress by counseling the competition: helping to improve teachers' knowledge structures and to practiee their professionalism. It still expounds the promoting effects on students' progress by citing the facts: improving students' performance in English and promoting the sustainable development of students.
