摘　　要：社会文化理论强调人类认知的社会文化属性和语言在认知发展活动中的中介作用。基于这一观点,本文概括报告北京外国语大学英语学院一项实施4年的英语专业写作课程改革实践案例。课程改革的重点是回归写作作为社会文化实践的本质定义并据此重构课程理念和目标,课程实践通过创设写作教学活动系统激发语言、思维和社会三者交互,从而帮助学习者实现系统内语言和认知的协同发展。Sociocultural Theory argues that human cognition is social by nature and upholds the meditational function of language in the development of human cognition.Following the insights,this paper reports a four-year case study of EFL writing curriculum transformation in School of English and International Studies,Beijing Foreign Studies University.The key to the transformation is to redefine writing as a social practice,and reframe the curriculum philosophy and goals accordingly.The focal aspect of teaching the curriculum is to establish a writing activity system where dialectical interactions among language,mind and society can be initiated and ensured to help the learners develop language and cognition at the same time.
