摘　　要：拼缀法构成的"月老族"一词具有中国特色,词典中尚无对应词,其它地方也无可参考的英译。从词语模的语义结构视角进行分析,借鉴英语中复合法、词缀法和缩略法三种构词方式,考证"月光族"和"啃老族"的英译,探讨"月老族"三种翻译形式以及该词语模和同类汉语新词的可行性英译策略和方法。“Yuelao - zu”is a new blending Chinese word. There is no equivalent in the English lan-guage. This paper attempts to put forward three proposed English versions by borrowing ideas from three main word formations,namely compounding,affixation and shortening. Further discussion is on how to translate the word template“X - zu”in view of its semantics and structure. It also triggers re-flections on feasible translation strategies and methods about neologisms.
