摘　　要：话轮沉默是一种重要的交际手段,具有丰富的语用含义。以英汉语篇会话中的话轮沉默为研究材料,分析了传统语用学在解读话轮沉默意义时存在的不足,指出应从认知语用的角度,借助关联理论,从宏观上建立对话语理解的认知框架,才能更好地解读话轮沉默中的会话含义,实现有效沟通。Turn silence,as an important means of communication,is pragmatic.This article discusses turn silence in English-Chinese conversational discourse,analyses the disadvantages of the traditional pragmatics in the interpretation of turn silence,and employs cognitive pragmatics and the relevance theory to achieve discourse cognition and effective communication.
