《吃碗茶》中华人“单身汉”社会的伦理困境透析

摘　　要：雷霆超的小说《吃碗茶》真实反映了由美国政府的排华政策造成的畸形百年华人"单身汉"社会和20世纪40年代"单身汉"社会向家庭社会转型时期所面临的一系列问题。小说延续了美国华裔文学对家庭伦理问题的关注。从社会、婚姻、家庭与代际关系等维度探讨20世纪初以纽约唐人街为代表的美国华人社会中由种族歧视、性别比例失调和中西伦理观碰撞等原因造成的潜在的伦理困境,可以带来以融合的方式解决中西伦理观念冲突的可能性。Drinking a Bowl of Tea by Louis Chu truthfully portrays New York Chinatown＇s bachelor society in the 1940s which was formed primarily on account of racist immigration restrictions imposed by American govern- ment. The novel highlights a series of problems that existed in New York Chinatown as it was undergoing radical social and ideological transformations. The essay intends to survey the potential ethical crisis within Chinatowns from the perspective of society, marriage, family and generational relations at the time, in view of a solution to conflicts between Chinese and western ethical ideas via integration.
