摘 要:近年来,有关中国大学生英语语用能力的研究聚焦了众多学者的关注。现有的研究中,对象多集中于中等语言水平的普通本科生。本文主要以江苏省六所独立学院为研究对象,通过访谈、问卷调查等方式,对独立学院大学生英语语用能力进行测试与评估。调查发现,独立学院的学生语用能力严重滞后于语言水平。本研究也从教与学两方面,提出了提高独立学院大学生英语语用能力的可行性建议。Although explorations on Chinese students' English pragmatic competence have been gaining increasingly attention in the last decade, the research targets are constrained mainly to students of intermediate English proficiency. The purpose of this study was to investigate the English pragmatic competence of students from 6 independent colleges in Jiangsu Province. Students survey responses, reflection papers, and interviews afterwards were collected and analyzed. Findings of the study indicated that students' pragmatic competence critically lagged behind their language proficiency. And pieces of advice on improving students' pragmatic competence from the aspects of learning and teaching were proposed in this paper.
