In substantive clause "no" can be replaced by "koto" under the most circumstances. But sometimes according to contents of the noun clause and predicates of the main sentences, there are some situations where "no" and "koto" must be used alone and can't be replaced by each other. In order to figure out how much the students have grasped about the differences between " no" and "koto" , we carried out a questionnaire survey. By analyzing the final results of the survey, we can come up with productive techniques of bettering the adaption of the current textbooks and improving the approaches of teaching, which is of great help to decrease the probabilities that students misuse "no" and "koto" .
