摘　　要：翻转课堂是近年来新兴的一种课堂教学模式,与传统课堂有着很大的差异。本文首先从课堂形式、教师角色、学习模式和课堂交互性四方面的转变来讨论翻转课堂的内涵和特征,其次着重探析翻转课堂教学模式在专业英语教学中的优势和面临的问题,旨在为我国英语教学改革提供借鉴。＂Flipped Classroom＂, being completely different from traditional teaching, is a newly popu- larized teaching model in recent years. At first, this study tries to define ＂flipped classroom＂ from four per- spectives including the changes in class arrangement, role of teachers, way of learning, and class interaction. What＇s more, the paper mainly focuses on the analysis on the benefits and challenges that are brought by ＂flipped classroom＂ to teaching in English major. Some practical implications are intended to provided for the English teaching throughout the nation.
