摘　　要：成长是青少年文学作品永恒的主题,是美国文学关注的一大焦点。《碎瓷片》以宁静的风格娓娓道出了韩国13世纪的生活细节,聚焦于孤儿树耳在物质生活异常艰辛的情况下的健康成长历程,突显出边缘人物对青少年成长的重要性。树耳经历了成长中的困惑,童真的幻灭,寻找自我,最终在引路人的引导下实现了身份认同。树耳就是一块闪烁美丽光芒的碎瓷片。Coming-of-age is an essential part of adolescent literature and a focus in American literature. A Single Shard describes the life of the thirteen century＇s Korea in a serenity style, focuses on the difficult but healthy coming-of-age of Tree-ear, the protagonist, and attaches great importance to the marginal people＇s influence on the growth of young adults. Tree-ear has experienced the confusion in growth, the illusion of childhood, seeking for true self and at last realized the identity with the guidance of leaders. Tree-ear is just like a shining shard.
