民初翻译规范影响下的周瘦鹃翻译研究

摘　　要：民国初期外国文学翻译家希望通过译介外国文学作品启蒙民众,推动国家与社会的变革,实现富强民主。当时的翻译家大多较为关注翻译文学能否实现预期的社会功用,而并非对原作的忠实,因而在这一历史文化语境下形成民初独特的翻译规范。周瘦鹃作为民初最具有代表性的外国文学翻译家之一,在上述翻译规范的影响下创造性地进行具有鲜明比喻特征的外国文学翻译。本文拟从译入语视角考察在民初翻译规范影响下周瘦鹃的外国文学翻译特征,尤其是其具有鲜明比喻特征的翻译,即在译作文本中增加各种比喻的操纵现象。Translators in the Early Republican Period aim to enlighten the public by translating foreign literary works, which they hope will in turn facilitate the reform and prosperity of the nation. Translators pay more attention to the social function of literature than faithfulness to the original work. Unique norms come into existence within the historical and cultural context. As one of＂ the most outstanding translators in that period, Zhou Shoujuan creatively translates by means of introducing a variety of metaphors. This ar- ticle analyses the characteristics of his translation from the perspective of the target language. Zhou Shoujuan employs the transla- tion strategy of manipulating the text in terms of adding metaphors.
