摘　　要：本文以"城"之具有争议的英译实例为切入点,分析我国时下流行的各类"城"的英译混乱现象,佐以英美实例,提出我国"城"之译名应予改进和完善的建议。There has been an awful confusion in the English translation of some names with the Chinese charac- ter＂ 城＂in them. In this paper, the causes of the confusion have been analyzed and some translating suggestions have been put forward along with the examples from English speaking countries.
