摘　　要：英语作为国际通用语的流行触发起许多值得我们反思的问题,如本族语者和非本族语者之分、我国英语教育的定位、过渡语(如基本体)的特点、最终目标的确定、基于使用理论和课堂教学的关系、我国英语教师对教学的认识、我国英语教学的社会认识和舆论导向,等等。The spread of English as a Lingua Franca triggers a number of problems for us to resolve, such as the differences of native speakers vs. nonnative speakers, the repositioning of English education in China, the characteristics of interlanguage(Basic Variety), ultimate attainment, use- based theories of classroom teaching, the understanding of language education by Chinese teachers of English, the social cognition and public opinions of English education, etc.
