《白象似的群山》人物语言的语境顺应分析

摘　　要：Verschueren的语境顺应论认为人们使用语言的过程中会在不同意识程度上进行语言的选择,而语言的选择必须与语境顺应。交际语境包括三个方面,即心理世界、社交世界和物理世界。从这个三个方面入手,可对海明威《白象似的群山》进行分析,证明小说人物的言语交际过程是顺应语境的过程,从而为理解和欣赏《白象似的群山》中的人物语言以及进一步对文本研究提供一个新视角。Contextual Adaptation Theory proposed by Verschueren claims that people make choices consciously or unconsciously when using languages, and the linguistic choices adapt to context at different levels. Communicative context consists of three aspects, namely mental world, social world and physical world. The short story Hills like white elephant by Hemingway is analyzed from these aspects accordingly. It proves the verbal communication of characters in stories is a process of contextual adaptation, which provide a new perspective to appreciate the verbal communication of characters and further study this short story.
