网络同步视频会话对英语口语能力的影响——中美大学生合作学习案例研究

摘　　要：文章介绍了中美两所大学之间的一项合作学习项目。项目旨在利用信息技术探索一种经济、方便、高效、实用的英语口语学习途径,以便更好地帮助中国英语学习者提高口头交际能力、增强学习过程满意度。45位中国小学教育英语专业的师范生和5位美国英语专业的本科生参加了这项研究。研究的具体内容为长达10周的中美大学生之间的网络视频会话。该项目采用准实验研究设计来评价项目的有效性。数据分析结果显示:跟英语为母语者进行网络视频会话能够有效改善中国英语学习者的语音语调和口头表达的流畅性,并在一定程度上有助于激发学生的英语学习积极性。本项研究对拓展远程教学模式、创设真实的英语学习情境、加强英语口语教学、改善"哑巴英语"的状况有一定的积极作用。This paper presents an educational collaborative project between two colleges in China and the United States. The projeet aimed at improving Chinese English learners＇ oral skills and learning satisfaction by exploring a cost- wise, convenient, practical and effective English learning strategy with the help of infomaation technology. Forty-five Chinese undergraduates majoring in elementary English education and five American undergraduates majoring in English language arts participated in the project which involved a 10-week online synchronous videocon- ference between the participants. Quasi-experiment design was employed to evaluate the effectiveness of the project. Results of data analyses showed that online synchronous videoconference with native English speakers was effective in improving Chinese EFL learners＇ English pronun- ciation and oral fluency ＆ coherent,and helped increase students＇ motivation in learning English. The outcomes of tiffs project might have some positive impacts on expanding distant learning approaches, creating authentic English learning environment, strengthening English oral instmc- don, and improving English eonwaunicative skills.
