摘　　要：美国大学教授联合会最近发布的调查报告就公众对大学教师经济状况的质疑进行了回应,指出教师收入并非学生学费与高等教育成本上升的根本原因,终身教职制度存在有其合法性。大学教师收入水平既关系着高等教育质量,也影响着大学在未来人才市场的竞争力。弥补社会与大学间巨大的认知鸿沟,独立的第三方机构能够发挥重要的作用。American Association of University Professors responded to the question which public around the university teachers＇ economic situation in the survey report recently. On the one hand, AAUP claims that teachers＇ income is not the root cause of cost increases on the tuition and higher education, on the other hand it also demonstrates the legitimacy of Tenure. The economic level of university teachers both related to the quality of higher education, and also affect the job market Competitiveness of University in the future, independent third-party organizations will play an important role in remedy of the huge knowledge gap which exists between society and university.
