摘　　要：基于语言共性,通过英汉比较,从/s/音的由来、首辅音/s/的音义联想对英语词汇首辅音/s/的音义象似性进行研究,认为首辅音/s/在辅音前表示加强语义,而在元音前表示四类意义:切削、摩擦、撒播、小与少。Based on linguistic universality and Chinese - English comparison, the paper discusses the iconicity of initial consonant / s/in English vocabulary in terms of the origin of/s/and its sound - meaning association, putting forward the idea that ： initial consonant/s/strengthens the meaning of the following consonant（ s）, while before a vowel it indicates four groups of meaning, i.e. cutting, frication, sowing, smallness and fewness.
